Communications Officer

National Office

PURPOSE:
The uMkhonto weSizwe Party is seeking a skilled Communications Officer: Technical with proven
experience and capacity in videography, photography, and broadcasting. This role involves establishing
and managing the party’s internal multimedia capabilities to ensure high-quality content production and
live streaming for public events and official communications.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Establish the videography and broadcasting capacity for uMkhonto weSizwe Party.
2. Manage broadcast channels across YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok, and other platforms.
3. Design, edit, and prepare official photos and videos for publishing.
4. Establish and secure data storage and archiving systems for party content.
5. Execute live streaming of uMkhonto weSizwe Party events and gatherings as directed.
6. Oversee all photography and videography activities.
7. Develop high-quality TV or podcast platforms for the organization.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

1. Understanding of merchandise and inventory management best practices
2. least 3-5 years of experience in videography, photography, or digital media production,
   preferably within a political, nonprofit, or similar organizational setting.
3. Proven experience in live-streaming events and managing live broadcast equipment.
4. Hands-on experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut
   Pro) and photo editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
5. Strong portfolio demonstrating a high standard of photography and videography.
6. Experience managing social media or online broadcast channels (e.g., YouTube, Facebook
   Live, TikTok).

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Media Studies, Communications, Digital Media,
   Broadcasting, Film, or a related field. Equivalent experience and/or a strong portfolio may
   be considered in lieu of formal education.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. A Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing relevant experience and skills.
2. A portfolio of previous videography and photography work.
3. A costed proposal detailing how they will fulfill the responsibilities and tasks listed above.
